An Abington woman found guilty of fatally shooting her elderly parents, and then dismembering their bodies with a chainsaw, reportedly did not show an emotion as she was sentenced after her plea agreement.

Verity Ann Beck, 45, of Abington Township, pleaded guilty, but mentally ill, in a Montgomery County Court to two counts of first-degree murder stemming from an incident on Jan. 17, 2023, said Carl Hessler Jr., via The Reporter.  Beck admitted to the crimes involving her 73-year-old father, Reid, and mother, 72, Miriam, all in a home the three shared in the 1100 block of Beverly Road in Jenkintown, reports stated.

The former teacher at Saint Katherine School’s special education department in Wynnewood will serve two concurrent terms of life in prison, with mandatory sentences for first-degree murder or intentional killing, Hessler reported. She will serve her time at the State Correctional Institution at Muncy, and has no chance at parole, but will receive mental health treatment as she serves her sentence.
