A recent Pennsylvania Lottery drawing brought big news to Upper Moreland Township, where one lucky ticket worth $1 million was sold locally.
The winning Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball ticket was purchased at 714 Easton Trading Inc. (Conoco) on Easton Road in Upper Moreland. The ticket matched all five white balls drawn (3, 19, 35, 51, and 67) in the April 29 drawing, securing the $1 million prize.
The local retailer will also receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
The Upper Moreland win was one of several across Pennsylvania in the same drawing, which saw a total of seven tickets statewide worth a combined $9 million. While no jackpot-winning ticket was sold in Pennsylvania, the $143 million Powerball jackpot was split by winners in Indiana and Kansas.
According to the Pennsylvania Lottery, more than 18,000 additional tickets won prizes of varying amounts in the drawing across the state.
The jackpot has since reset and will be up for grabs again in the next drawing. Lottery officials remind players to check their tickets carefully, as prizes must be claimed within a set period.
As of now, no information has been released about the winner of the Upper Moreland ticket.
