MIAMI — Here's some nuggets as the Phillies prepare for the third game of a four-game wraparound series with the Marlins at loanDepot Park.

  • Jhoan Duran (left oblique strain) threw a bullpen session Saturday. Interim manager Don Mattingly said that he "heard the bullpen was really good," adding that Duran hit 100 mph. While that's extremely high velocity to throw in a bullpen session when you're trying to come back from an injury, Mattingly said "we did want to make sure he went to intensity to make sure that this is something that ... your throwing at 90% is different than throwing at 100%." The Phillies are still deciding whether or not Duran will need a rehab stint before returning to the Phillies, although throwing with that intensity in the bullpen might be an indication that he doesn't.

  • Like Andrew Painter, Justin Crawford said he deals with ocular migraines, which can cause vision loss. He had one creep up Saturday, which is why he was a late scratch from the lineup. This was his first one he's had in over a year, he said. By the time the game was over, Crawford started to feel better. He's back in the lineup Sunday, hitting ninth against Miami starter Chris Paddack.

  • Also back in the lineup is Brandon Marsh, who missed Saturday's game after getting hit by a pitch on his right elbow in Friday night's win

  • Without García in the lineup, Alec Bohm is back in the cleanup spot, at least for a day. "I trust this guy's gonna hit, feel like he's been swinging better, so I wanna show confidence that I believe in him," Mattingly said of Bohm.

  • An interesting item to file away: Mattingly says "we'll be looking into this next homestand, where we rank in all areas ... offensively ... defensively ... pitching ... where are the areas if we're not as good, and really just get a factual starting point of where we are right now and what we've been to this point." This review will include the entire coaching staff and members of the front office, and they'll happen throughout the season. It's something that Mattingly picked up during his three seasons as bench coach for the Toronto Blue Jays. "There's things your whole career that you bring with you. Somebody shows me something, I like it, it becomes mine. That's what I do now."

  • Kyle Schwarber will enter play Sunday having struck out eight times in a row. According to Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer and MLB.com's Todd Zolecki, that's one away from the franchise record of nine, which is shared by RHP Wayne Twitchell and OF Dylan Cozens. For what it's worth, Twitchell was an All-Star in 1973 — when he struck out nine times in a row – as he posted a 2.50 ERA across 223 1/3 innings pitched. Cozens is a bit more complicated, because when he struck out in nine consecutive plate appearances during the 2018 campaign, he had a stint in Triple-A in between.

  • Jesús Luzardo will get the ball for the Phillies Sunday in Miami. Luzardo — who was a Marlin from 2021-2024 — has a 4.05 ERA in 45 career starts at loanDepot Park.

  • The Marlins brought back their teal jerseys for Sunday home games this season, so you'll see these beauties against the Phillies today:
