A local man is facing a lengthy state prison sentence after admitting to repeatedly sexually assaulting a minor over several years in Upper Moreland Township, according to a report.
Jermaine D. Martin, 47, of Easton Road, pleaded guilty in Montgomery County Court to multiple felony charges, including rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, and related offenses tied to incidents between 2022 and 2025.
Under a plea agreement, Martin is expected to be sentenced to 20 to 50 years in prison, followed by 13 years of probation, effectively placing him under court supervision for the rest of his life. Formal sentencing is pending an evaluation by the Pennsylvania Sexual Offenders Assessment Board, which will determine whether he qualifies as a sexually violent predator, a designation that carries additional restrictions and monitoring.
According to the Upper Moreland Township Police Department, the investigation began in January 2025 after reports that Martin had ongoing contact with a girl between the ages of 12 and 15. Police said Martin knew the victim’s family and had regular access to her.
Detectives allege the abuse escalated over time and involved manipulation, including providing marijuana and offering money or gifts. Authorities said the victim reported being under the influence during many of the incidents.
Investigators said evidence in the case included text messages and DNA linking Martin to the assaults.
Martin’s bail has been revoked, and he remains in custody at the Montgomery County jail awaiting sentencing. He will also be required to register for life under Pennsylvania’s sexual offender laws.
