An investigation led by Upper Moreland Township Police uncovered evidence of suspected drug distribution and a possible accidental firearm discharge following a reported shots fired incident at an apartment complex in Horsham.
According to authorities, the investigation began shortly after midnight on Oct. 9, 2025, when officers were dispatched to Blair Mill Village East Apartments located at 3855 Blair Mill Road, after reports of gunfire.
Responding officers located a bullet inside an apartment after residents reported hearing a loud bang and discovering damage inside the unit, including holes in the wall and ceiling.
Residents also reported finding a projectile in the apartment, which they initially believed had entered from a neighboring unit. Investigators later determined the bullet appeared to have originated from the apartment next door.
Officers made contact with the occupant of that unit, identified as Andres Ortiz Columna, 20, of Warrington. A protective sweep was conducted, followed by a consent search of the apartment.
During the search, officers reported a strong odor of marijuana and recovered a large quantity of suspected drugs, paraphernalia, and ammunition-related evidence.
Items reportedly recovered included:
No firearm was recovered during the search of the apartment or a later search of a vehicle associated with Columna, though multiple casings were located in both locations.
Investigators believe the evidence suggests involvement in narcotics distribution and that a firearm may have discharged inside the apartment, with a bullet traveling into the neighboring unit. However, no weapon was found.
The investigation remains ongoing and is being handled in coordination with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force and Gun Violence Reduction Task Force.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 12, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. before Judge Thomas P. Murt.
All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
