A man is facing charges after police say he intentionally exposed himself to a woman along the Tookany Creek walking trail on May 5, according to police.
According to an affidavit filed by Cheltenham police, officers responded to a report of indecent exposure on May 5 involving a woman on the trail near Jenkintown Road. The woman told responding officers that a man, identified as Chester Johnson, 25, of Philadelphia, exposed his genitals to her before continuing down the trail.
Police met the woman in a parking lot near the pond area, where she provided officers with a description of the suspect and the direction he was traveling. Officers later located Johnson near the parking lot by Veterans Park and detained him.
According to the complaint, Johnson told officers he was participating in a TikTok trend involving running without underwear.
Police then brought the woman to the scene, where she positively identified Johnson as the individual involved in the incident.
Court documents state the woman was walking toward Jenkintown Road when Johnson approached her from the opposite direction. As he passed her near the bridge at Tookany Creek Parkway and Jenkintown Road, Johnson allegedly pulled up the left leg of his shorts and intentionally exposed himself.
The woman told police she confronted Johnson, saying, “You really didn’t just do that, did you?” According to the affidavit, Johnson smiled and briefly engaged with her before continuing down the trail.
Investigators say the woman believed Johnson noticed her earlier on the trail and intentionally targeted her before the alleged incident occurred.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 27, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. before Magisterial District Judge R. Emmett Madden.
All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
