Police in Abington Township say a man is in custody after an early morning burglary at a Glenside gas station that was caught on surveillance cameras and monitored in real time by the store owner.

Tristan Livezey, 19, of Wyndmoor, is facing a felony charge stemming from the incident.

Officers were dispatched around 5:43 a.m. on March 21 to the CPC Energy Gas Station, located at 3031 Mt Carmel Avenue, Glenside, for a reported burglary in progress. When police arrived, an officer spotted a man inside the store while the owner watched the incident unfold via live security footage and relayed updates through Montgomery County 911.

According to investigators, surveillance footage shows Livezey arriving in the area earlier that morning in a red Subaru registered to a family member. He allegedly parked along Ruscombe Avenue before approaching the gas station from behind the building.

Police say Livezey used a crowbar to force open the rear door, causing significant damage before gaining entry. Once inside, he attempted to break into a skill machine using tools but was unsuccessful. He then tried to pry open a cash register and eventually accessed another register, taking approximately $153 in cash.

Authorities say the suspect was attempting to break into skill machines when he noticed police and fled out the rear door. Despite repeated commands to stop, he continued running before officers located him a short time later hiding in a yard along the 250 block of Chelsea Avenue.

The suspect was identified as Livezey and taken into custody without further incident.

Officers say the clothing worn by the suspect on surveillance matched what Livezey was wearing at the time of his arrest.

After being taken into custody, Livezey was advised of his rights and agreed to speak with investigators. Police say he admitted to breaking into the business, attempting to access the machines, stealing cash, and causing damage.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 8, 2026 at 12:30 p.m. before Magisterial District Judge Juanita A. Price.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
