A Dresher man is facing DUI charges following a serious rollover crash in Upper Dublin Township earlier this month, according to police.
David Baxley, 40, of the 1900 block of South Limekiln Pike, is facing felony charges related to the incident.
Officers with the Upper Dublin Township Police Department responded around 10:39 p.m. on March 6 to the 2000 block of S Limekiln Pike for reports of a single-vehicle crash with occupants trapped inside.
According to police, the vehicle veered off the road, sideswiped a telephone pole, struck a mailbox, and then hit a large boulder before overturning and coming to rest after striking the base of a light pole. Debris was scattered across the scene, and the vehicle sustained heavy damage.
When police arrived, emergency crews were already on scene working to rescue those inside the overturned vehicle. Authorities said the SUV, identified as a Land Rover Range Rover, had flipped onto its roof after leaving the roadway near Jennifer Drive.
Baxley was assisted from the vehicle by first responders. A front-seat passenger was reportedly in and out of consciousness and had to be extricated by fire personnel.
Investigators said Baxley showed signs of impairment, including glassy, bloodshot eyes, unsteady movement, and slow, lethargic speech. Officers also reported detecting a strong odor of alcohol on his breath.
According to police, Baxley told them he had been drinking beer at a local restaurant prior to the crash and was driving a short distance home when the incident occurred.
Baxley was transported to Abington Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries, which included dental damage. While at the hospital, police said he refused both a preliminary breath test and a request for a blood draw.
Authorities later obtained a search warrant for Baxley’s medical records and collected blood samples for testing. According to police, toxicology results showed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.243%, more than three times the legal limit.
Based on the investigation, Baxley has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
A preliminary hearing April 17, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. before Judge Douglas H. Lavenberg.
