Woman rescued from early morning apartment fire in Cheltenham Township

Firefighters rescued a woman from an apartment fire in the Wyncote section of Cheltenham Township early Tuesday morning, according to emergency officials.

Crews were dispatched at approximately 2:15 a.m. to the 1600 block of Church Road, where reports indicated a fire inside a multi-unit residential building.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered active flames coming from an upper-floor apartment unit, prompting an immediate response to contain the fire and search for occupants.

During the incident, crews located and rescued a woman from inside the apartment, bringing her to safety. Officials have not released details regarding her condition.

Firefighters worked to bring the blaze under control and prevent it from spreading to other units in the building.
