At the March 12, 2026, Board of Commissioners meeting, the Board accepted Commissioner Bill Bole's resignation effective March 31, 2026.
Few details have been released, other than that he will be stepping into a new role in a different city.
"Yeah, this is just a hard one," said Matthew Vahey, Ward 12 Commissioner. "It's never easy, but you've been a great friend and a tremendous partner through very, very difficult times, both personally and publicly.
"Bill was one of the first people that came to my house when it was on fire on Christmas Eve in 2021," Vahey added. "Then we were steadfast partners through another big fire in my ward at SPS last year.
Boles also served as Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee, and an active member of the Finance Committee.
The township is now accepting letters of interest from residents interested in being appointed to fill the Ward 13 seat until the position is filled.

Township officials said the appointment is tentatively scheduled to be considered during the board’s regular public meeting on April 16 at 7 p.m.
