Drivers traveling through Upper Dublin Township should prepare for daytime delays this week as roadwork is scheduled along a busy local corridor.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that construction will take place on Fort Washington Avenue between Susquehanna Road and Meetinghouse Road from Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20.
During the project, crews will implement periodic lane closures with flaggers directing traffic between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day.
Because Fort Washington Avenue is a key route connecting several neighborhoods and businesses in Upper Dublin, PennDOT is warning motorists to expect backups and slower travel times while work is underway.
Officials are urging drivers to allow extra time when passing through the area, especially during midday hours when the closures will be in effect. The work schedule is weather dependent, meaning changes could occur if conditions do not allow construction.
PennDOT did not specify the exact nature of the work but said the lane restrictions are necessary to safely complete the roadway construction project.
