Members of the Abington Township Police Department spent an evening connecting with the community and got to participate in the pregame festivities during a recent Sixers game.
Officers from the department’s recruitment team were at Xfinity Mobile Arena on Wednesday, March 4, speaking with fans and answering questions about career opportunities in law enforcement. The outreach effort allowed officers to engage with community members and share information about joining the department.

The department’s Honor Guard also participated in the evening’s pregame ceremony, presenting the colors during the National Anthem.
"Getting out into the community is important to us," Abington Police Department said. "Whether it’s events like this, college fairs, or other outreach opportunities, we’re always looking for ways to connect."

Currently, the Abington Township Police Department is accepting applications for new police officers.
Applicants must be at least 21, U.S. citizens, have a high school diploma or GED, and meet physical and background requirements. Candidates go through a written exam, physical agility test, interview, and background checks. The department encourages community-minded individuals to apply and join its team in serving Abington Township.
