Devonta Paulk, 31, of the 5000 block of Walnut Street in Philadelphia, is facing another felony charge of retail theft, according to police.
Abington Police responded to a reported retail theft on the evening of Jan. 17, 2026, at the Fine Wine and Good Spirits store located at 935 Old York Road in the Abington section of Abington Township.
According to police, officers were dispatched to the store at approximately 6:25 p.m. Upon arrival, the store manager reported that a man, later identified as Paulk, entered the store, selected three items of merchandise, and exited the building without attempting to pay. The individual reportedly passed all points of sale before leaving the premises.
Police conducted a criminal history check through the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), which indicated that Paulk has seven prior convictions for retail theft.
The stolen merchandise was recovered and valued at $157.91.
Based on the investigation and the information obtained at the scene, police requested that charges be filed against the defendant under the applicable statutes as outlined in the criminal complaint.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 4, 2026, at 12:15 p.m. before Magisterial District Judge Juanita A. Price.
