Residents who need help paying their winter heating bills will have an opportunity to get in-person assistance today when Sen. Maria Collett’s office partners with PECO for a Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) event in Willow Grove.
The event will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Willow Grove Giant, located at 315 N York Road. No appointment is required.
Staff from Sen. Collett’s office and PECO will be on site to help eligible residents apply for LIHEAP, a state program that provides grants to assist with home heating costs. LIHEAP grants are paid directly to utility providers and do not need to be repaid.
LIHEAP is open to eligible Pennsylvanians through April 10, 2026, and households can apply even if they are not currently behind on their utility bills.
Residents seeking assistance are encouraged to bring the following items, if available:
LIHEAP helps thousands of Pennsylvania families each year cover heating expenses during the colder months. Those who cannot attend the event can also apply online through the state’s COMPASS system.
