Residents interested in a career in emergency services will have an opportunity to learn more later this month when several Upper Moreland public safety agencies host a joint recruitment event.
The Upper Moreland Police Department, Upper Moreland Township Fire Department, and the Second Alarmer’s Rescue Squad of Montgomery County are seeking new members.
To help the recruitment process, these agencies will come together for a police, fire and EMS recruitment event on Sunday, Jan. 19, held at the Upper Moreland Fire Department, located at 227 Davisville Road.
There will be two sessions: one will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.; and the second session will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The event will go highlight:
Held on Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, the event is designed to introduce community members to careers centered on service, teamwork and public safety. Attendees will be able to speak directly with representatives from each agency, learn about training requirements, and explore the different paths available in law enforcement, firefighting and emergency medical services.
Organizers say the event is geared toward anyone considering a future in emergency services, whether they are just beginning to explore career options or are ready to take the next step toward joining a department.
The recruitment event highlights the vital role police officers, firefighters and EMS personnel play in keeping Upper Moreland safe.
