Montgomery County officials leased a health and hygiene vending machine as part of a contracts package approved last week.

A two-year $36,045 agreement between the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services and Longview International Technology Solutions, Inc., of Herndon, Virginia procured the machine, which is expected to become available on Feb. 1.

The vending machine “will dispense free and low barrier health products including hygiene products and COVID/flu tests, as well as harm reduction supplies such as Narcan and drug test strips,” the contract states.

It’s unclear where the vending machine will be situated, but the contract stipulated the lease will run through Jan. 31, 2028. It also included an “option to extend or renew, based on success of the project and funding availability.” Monies were obtained through the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s Overdose Data to Action and Opioid Settlement funds.

The five-figure agreement was part of a seven-item package that totaled nearly $868,190.

A nearly $323,148 agreement with Koch Holdings Inc. dba Koch 33 Ford of Easton, Northampton County, procured five vehicles and upfitting services for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicles, which were obtained through capital funding, included two 2026 Ford Transit Vans, two Ford Police Interceptor SUVs and one Ford Explorer SUV, according to the contract, which was made available through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s cooperative purchasing program.

The county sheriff’s office also renewed a $410,000 “prisoner extradition services” contract with the Nashville-based U S Corrections LLC. The agreement covered “the transportation of prisoners to be extradited from other locations and facilities within the United States to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.”

Funds were obtained through the county’s general-operational budget. The two-year term had “no remaining renewals” available, according to the contract. In other business, a portion of an existing human resources package was amended to reassign two contracts, which were “inadvertently assigned to Gallery Benefits Services Inc.” The employee benefits bundle authorized at a Dec. 18, 2025 meeting encompassed 10 contracts with the Montgomery County Human Resources Department that amounted to roughly $49.47 million. Coverage totaled $1.05 million.

Three agreements were instead awarded to the “correct contract provider,” which designated the Minneapolis-based Minn BusinessSolver Inc. Contracts covered $450,000 for a lifestyle spending account, $487,500 for a dependent flexible spending account for family and child care and $113,000 in FSA and COBRA administrative services.

Funds were obtained through the county’s general-operational budget, according to the agreement, and the “values remain the same for all noted services.

The next Montgomery County Board of Commissioners meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22 on the eighth floor of One Montgomery Plaza, 425 Swede St. Those interested in attending the meeting can also do so virtually. Visit montgomerycountypa.gov for more information.
