Fire crews responded to a reported building fire Tuesday around 12:30 p.m. at Bloomingdale’s inside the Willow Grove Mall located at 2400 Moreland Road, according to Montgomery County Dispatch.
According to initial reports, mall security alerted authorities to a fire in a trash chute within the department store. Multiple fire companies were dispatched to the scene, including Roslyn Fire Company, Edge Hill Fire Company, Weldon Fire Company, and Abington Fire Company.
Crews worked to investigate and address the situation inside the store. No information was immediately available regarding injuries, damage, or whether the fire impacted mall operations.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
