Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred Sunday morning on a SEPTA bus in the Elkins Park section of Cheltenham Township, according to a report.
At approximately 8:07 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026, Cheltenham Township Police and EMS responded to the area of Old York Road and Breyer Drive following reports of a stabbing on a SEPTA Route 55 bus.
Officers located a male victim suffering from a stab wound to the head. The victim was transported to an area trauma center for treatment and is expected to survive, according to police.
Authorities said two suspects fled from the bus prior to police arrival. After a foot pursuit, the suspects were apprehended in the area of Meetinghouse Road and Township Line Road with assistance from Abington Township Police.
The incident remains under investigation by Cheltenham Township Police and SEPTA Police.
