After nearly four decades of dedicated public service, Chief Oscar Horajeckyj has officially retired from the Rockledge Borough Police Department, bringing to a close a distinguished 38-year career in law enforcement and emergency services.

Chief Horajeckyj served the Borough of Rockledge with professionalism and commitment, spending the final 16 months of his career as Chief of Police. His leadership marked the culmination of years of dedicated service and responsibility within the department, where he was known for his experience, dependability, and quiet dedication to the community.

Before joining the police department full time, Chief Horajeckyj also served as an EMT, demonstrating an early commitment to helping others during emergencies, a commitment that would define his professional life. Over the course of 38 years, he devoted countless hours to protecting residents, responding to calls for service, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the department, often without public recognition.

A career of this length reflects not only longevity, but also sacrifice and a deep sense of duty. The Borough of Rockledge extends its sincere gratitude to Chief Horajeckyj for his many years of service and leadership.
