The Women’s Center of Montgomery County will host its annual International Women’s Day Celebration of Resilience on Thursday, March 5, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in a virtual event open to the public.
Held in advance of International Women’s Day on March 8, the online gathering will highlight stories of courage, transformation, and perseverance while honoring women who have overcome adversity. This year’s event also marks the official launch of the organization’s 50th anniversary celebration, commemorating five decades of service to individuals and families across Montgomery County.
Founded in 1976, the Women’s Center has worked to provide safety, stability, and support for survivors of domestic violence while advocating for broader community and systems-level change. Organizers say this year’s theme, “Resilience — In Every Form,” reflects both the experiences of survivors and the continued growth of the organization itself.
The program will feature guest speakers sharing personal journeys of reinvention and strength, as well as recognition of the volunteers, members, and supporters who have helped sustain the center’s mission over the past 50 years.
The event will be held via Zoom and is free to attend, though donations are encouraged to support the organization’s ongoing services. Registered participants will receive a Zoom access link by email on March 5 prior to the event.
