Young athletes in Montgomery County and its surrounding communities will have a new opportunity to take the field this spring.

Penn Athletics Club, a Bucks County–based nonprofit, has announced that youth NFL flag football leagues will be coming to the area.

The spring leagues will be organized by grade level and gender, with divisions available for participants ranging from preschool through 12th grade. Games will be held on Sundays at fields in Abington Township, running from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on April 12, 19, 26, and May 3, 10, 17, and 31. The season will conclude with playoffs and championship games on Sunday, June 7.

According to Penn Athletics Club, players from several local school districts are expected to participate, including Abington, Cheltenham, Jenkintown, Springfield, Upper Dublin, Lower Moreland, Upper Moreland, and Hatboro-Horsham.

Residents within those districts are eligible for an “Inaugural Season Promotion,” which the organization says is intended to encourage first-time participation and introduce families to the program.

Penn Athletics Club officials said the goal of the league is to provide a fun, inclusive environment where young athletes can develop skills, build teamwork, and enjoy the game in a non-contact setting.

Additional information on registration and league details is available through Penn Athletics Club.
