A man is facing DUI-related charges after police say he crashed his pickup truck onto another vehicle in Abington Township while heavily intoxicated, according to authorities.

The incident occurred around 3:06 p.m. on Dec. 11, 2025, in the 2100 block of Moreland Road in the Abington section of the township. Responding officers found a Chevrolet Silverado resting on top of a parked vehicle, with the driver, identified as George Deussing, 35, of Pottsrown, still inside.

According to police, the driver-side door was jammed, requiring firefighters to stabilize the vehicle and use hydraulic rescue tools to free Deussing. During the rescue, authorities observed gasoline leaking from the truck. At one point, Deussing attempted to light and smoke a cigarette while still trapped inside, despite repeated warnings from first responders about the danger.

Once removed from the vehicle, police said Deussing was unsteady on his feet and had to be assisted to a patrol car. Officers reported signs of intoxication, including slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and a strong odor of alcohol. Deussing also admitted to drinking, according to the report.

He was transported to Abington Memorial Hospital for evaluation, where police say he continued to display signs of intoxication and refused to consent to a blood test. Investigators later obtained a warrant for a blood draw. Test results showed a blood alcohol concentration of approximately 0.396%, nearly five times the legal limit in Pennsylvania.

Police also determined that Deussing’s driver’s license was suspended for DUI at the time of the crash and that he had two prior DUI convictions.

He now faces multiple charges related to driving under the influence and the crash.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 7, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. before John D. Kessler.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
