Police are investigating a stabbing that left a man seriously injured Thursday afternoon at a gym in the Wyncote section of the township, according to authorities.
The incident occurred around 12:33 p.m. on April 2 at the Planet Fitness located at 1000 South Easton Road. Cheltenham Police and emergency medical personnel responded to reports of a stabbing and found a male victim suffering from multiple stab wounds.
The victim, identified as an employee of the gym, was transported to a nearby trauma center with life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.
Officers quickly located and apprehended a suspect a short distance from the scene. Police said the individual is expected to face multiple criminal charges.
Preliminary findings indicate the stabbing occurred during an altercation involving a person who had previously been banned from the business.
