A Horsham woman is facing felony charges following an alleged shoplifting incident at the Macy’s department store in the Willow Grove Mall.
According to Abington Township Police, officers were dispatched to the store, located at 2500 W. Moreland Road, on Sept. 20, 2025, after receiving a report of retail theft.
The suspect, identified as Bhavana Bodiwala, 77, of Goldenrod Lane, Horsham, was observed by store security selecting a London Fog duffel bag valued at $199.99 and concealing it inside a London Fog hard-sided spinner suitcase worth $339.99. Police said Bodiwala then attempted to leave the store without paying for the items.
A loss prevention officer stopped her in the vestibule, recovered the merchandise, and contacted police. Store security also reported recognizing Bodiwala from previous theft incidents captured on surveillance cameras.
Bodiwala was taken into custody and charged with felony retail theft and related offenses. She was arraigned and bail was set at $5,000.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Oct. 15, 2025, at 10:45 a.m. before Magisterial District Judge Juanita A. Price.
