Drivers in Upper Moreland Township should plan for delays in the upcoming weeks as PennDOT crews close a portion of Blair Mill Road for pavement and pipe repair work.
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, the closure will take place from Monday, Oct. 6, through Friday, Oct. 10, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day. Blair Mill Road will be shut down between County Line Road and Moreland Avenue during that period.
A detour will direct motorists onto County Line Road, Route 263 (York Road), and Horsham Road. While local access will be maintained, officials warn that traffic backups and delays are expected. All work is weather-dependent.
PennDOT encourages drivers to check traffic conditions before heading out by using 511PA, the state’s free travel information service. The tool provides real-time traffic alerts, speed data, weather forecasts, and access to more than 1,000 live traffic cameras. It’s available online at www.511PA.com, by smartphone app, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional alerts on X (formerly Twitter).
