Abington Township police have charged a Philadelphia woman with burglary and criminal trespass after she allegedly entered a township home earlier this month.

Police said Tyshaney Denise Houston, 23, of the 5900 block of Magnolia Street, entered a residence on the 100 block of Houston Avenue on Sept. 13 around 4:39 p.m.

The homeowner told officers that an unknown woman came through a rear door and was found holding several personal belongings. When confronted, the woman set the items down and left the home, according to investigators.

Officers later identified the woman as Houston. Police said she was found in possession of another personal item belonging to the victim.

Houston was arrested and bail was set at $50,000. She faces felony charges of burglary and criminal trespass.

A preliminary hearing took place Sept. 24. A formal arraignment is scheduled for Nov. 5, 2025, at 9:30 a.m.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
