Police are urging residents in the Ardsley section of Abington Township to stay alert after several reports of screws being intentionally placed in residential driveways over the past 24 hours, according to a report.
According to the Abington Township Police Department, multiple homeowners contacted authorities after discovering screws scattered near their vehicles, raising concerns about the potential for tire damage or other safety hazards.
Investigators have identified one important similarity among the targeted properties: each home had certain political campaign signs displayed.
Police did not specify which campaigns were represented, but stated that preliminary evidence suggests the acts may be politically motivated vandalism.
A police spokesperson said detectives are “actively investigating these incidents and working to determine who is responsible.”
Officers are canvassing the area, reviewing home security camera footage, and asking residents to report anything suspicious, such as unfamiliar vehicles, late-night activity, or individuals seen walking near driveways.
