Stolen vehicle crash at Cheltenham–Philadelphia border leaves one dead

A stolen Dodge Durango sparked a deadly multi-vehicle crash late Tuesday night, October 14, at the intersection of North 2nd Street and Cheltenham Avenue in East Oak Lane, according to a report from 6ABC.

The collision occurred around 11 p.m. and claimed the life of the driver of a Hyundai Sonata, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Another person was injured in the crash. The violent impact scattered debris across the intersection, which straddles the border between Cheltenham Township and Philadelphia.

Police took the Durango’s driver and passenger into custody, though no charges have yet been filed. Authorities have not released the name of the deceased driver.
