After nearly six decades of serving the Glenside community, Prince Tailors is closing its doors for good. The longtime shop, located at 83 Limekiln Pike, has been a neighborhood fixture since the mid-1960s, known for its expert craftsmanship, meticulous alterations, and warm, personal service.
According to a longtime store employee, owner Maura Eugeni is retiring.
"Thank you everyone," Eugeni wrote in a social media post, "for the opportunity to fulfill generations of family since Sept. 27, 1966 when my parents 'Mr Prince' aka Alberto Eugeni [opened the store]. Thank You for all the support & encouragement.
According to the store, it is waiting for customers to pick up the last of their things.
"It’s been a great spot," she said in an interview. "I’ve been very happy over here. It’s a shame, but you have to let it go. We’ve made a lot of friends."
For generations, Prince Tailors was the go-to destination for locals needing everything from a quick hem to intricate wedding gown adjustments. Its small storefront became a trusted spot for those who valued skilled tailoring.
From its business listing, Eugeni describes the store as:
