In a town that bleeds Philadelphia sports, one of the most passionate fans is barely out of preschool.
Meet Callum “Cal” Kaminski, a 3-year-old from Glenside whose uplifting spirit has captured the hearts of Philly fans, and even earned him a featured spot on 6ABC Action News.
Known online as the face of “Cal’s Corner,” Cal shares cheerful, encouraging messages for Philadelphia sports fans on social media, no matter the outcome of the game.
Cal’s parents started posting his messages under the “Cal’s Corner” name to share their son’s infectious optimism with fellow Philly sports fan. What began as a family project quickly gained attention for its sincerity and hometown charm.
Even at such a young age, Cal knows his Phillies lineup by heart. His parents say his name was inspired by the musician Calum Scott, whose song “Dancing On My Own” became an anthem for the Phillies during their playoff runs. To keep the theme going, the Kaminskis later welcomed a second son named after Phillies infielder Bryson Stott.
Cal’s enthusiasm recently caught the attention of 6ABC’s Matteo Iadonisi, who featured him in a segment highlighting his mission to keep Philly fans positive through every win and loss.
