A Philadelphia woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly abducting a toddler and stealing a vehicle last week, police said.
Rosalyn Darden, 49, of the 6600 block of North Bouvier Street, was arrested around 11:49 a.m. on Sept. 25 in the 3000 block of Cheltenham Avenue. According to investigators, Darden took a car in Philadelphia with a 2-year-old girl inside, despite knowing that the child’s grandmother had legal custody.
Authorities quickly located the vehicle and recovered the child safely. Darden was taken into custody and charged with kidnapping, interference with the custody of children, fleeing or eluding police, endangering the welfare of a child, unlawful restraint, reckless endangerment, false imprisonment, simple assault, theft, robbery of a motor vehicle, driving under the influence, and multiple traffic violations, officials said.
