Michael Valles, 43, of Philadelphia, is facing multiple felony charges stemming from a shoplifting incident in Willow Grove, according to police.
On the morning of Nov. 14, 2025, police were alerted that a stolen gray Honda Civic had entered Home Depot Drive, located at 2250 Easton Road.
The vehicle, confirmed stolen out of Philadelphia County, was found unoccupied in the store’s parking lot.
While officers monitored the area, a man later identified as Valles entered the driver’s seat and sped away. Multiple marked patrol units attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver fled at a high speed through nearby parking lots.
Due to the dangerous and tight conditions, officers ended the pursuit. However, minutes later, the vehicle was found overturned on the eastbound Pennsylvania Turnpike ramp, and the driver had fled on foot.
During a search of the surrounding area, Hatboro Police located a man on nearby train tracks who matched the driver’s description. Officers confirmed he was the same individual seen entering the stolen vehicle, and he was taken into custody without incident.
Detectives later confirmed that the stolen Civic contained five rolls of conduit wiring and clothing matching the suspect’s appearance. Home Depot loss-prevention staff verified that the same individual had stolen the wire, valued at $2,077.66, earlier that morning by pushing an unpaid cart of merchandise out of the store. The stolen items were recovered and returned.
Valles faces charges connected to the stolen vehicle, retail theft, and fleeing police. The investigation is ongoing.
