On Nov. 17, the Abington Township Police announced that it was searching for 69-year-old Antonio Santiago, who suffers from dementia and was seen walking southbound on Old York Road near Nifty Fifty’s. Officials put out an alert to the public asking for assistance.

Hour later, the police department announced that Santiago had been safely located after being reported missing earlier in the evening. Officials expressed their gratitude to residents and local businesses who assisted by sharing information and remaining alert during the search.

Santiago was last seen around 5:40 p.m. Police quickly became concerned due to both his medical condition and the fact that he was not dressed for the cold weather. At the time he went missing, he was wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans, white sneakers, and had a dark mustache.

Following the announcement of his disappearance, police urged the public to call 911 with any sightings or information. Community members responded promptly, helping officers narrow down potential locations and provide timely updates. Authorities said this cooperation played an important role in ensuring Santiago was found without harm.

Police thanked everyone who shared the alert or assisted in any way, noting that quick public involvement can make a critical difference in cases involving vulnerable individuals.

Santiago has now been reunited with family, and the case has been closed.
