The Abington Community Taskforce (ACT) has announced that the upcoming panel discussion, “Mental Health & Wellness 101: Supporting Youth and Young Adults,” originally scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, at Penn State Abington’s Sutherland Auditorium, has been postponed due to low registration numbers, according to a report.
The event, organized in partnership with CAPT (Citizens and Police Together) and Penn State Abington, was intended to provide valuable information and resources for community members ages 12 and up. It was to feature a Resource Fair and Networking session from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m., followed by a Q&A Panel Discussion from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
Panelists were scheduled to include representatives from:
The discussion aimed to address mental health and wellness among youth and young adults, focusing on recognizing signs of distress, promoting emotional well-being, responding to mental health crises, and connecting families with local resources.
Organizers emphasized the importance of these conversations within the community and expressed disappointment about the postponement. “We remain committed to bringing this important program to the community,” ACT said in a statement. “Our goal is to ensure as many people as possible can benefit from the insights and resources that our panelists provide.”
A new date for the event will be announced once registration reopens. Community members are encouraged to stay tuned for updates on ACT’s website and social media channels and to register early once the event is rescheduled.
