The Abington Township Public Library will host the inaugural event of the Nancy J. Wright Memorial Author Series featuring #1 New York Times bestselling author Liz Moore.
The event will take place on Wednesday, June 4, in the historic Sutherland Building on the campus of Penn State Abington. Moore will discuss her novels, The God of the Woods and Long Bright River, in conversation with Dr. Karen Weekes.
The series is in recognition of Wright, who was a lifelong resident of Abington Township and member of the Board of Trustees for the Abington Township Public Library. She was a fervent supporter of the library, its staff, and the community that it serves. She was deeply committed to the power of books and ideas, believing that libraries are not just repositories of knowledge, but essential spaces for dialogue, discovery, and community connection.
This program marks the first installment in the Nancy J. Wright Memorial Author Series and is presented in partnership with the Friends of the Abington Township Public Library, Penn State Abington, and Capricorn Books.
An acclaimed writer of both fiction and creative nonfiction, Moore has earned widespread praise from critics and readers alike. The Washington Post described her latest novel, The God of the Woods, as a book that “transports readers so deeply into its richly peopled, ominous world that, for hours, everything else falls away. . . . Breaking free of the spell Moore casts is close to impossible.”
Following the discussion, there will be a book signing and an opportunity for attendees to take photos with Moore. Books will be available for purchase at the event.
The event is ticketed, with tickets available for purchase online in advance. Books may be purchased on-site before or after the program. Capricorn Books will manage book sales. Seating is general admission, and doors will open at 6:00 p.m. Guests are asked to park in Lot H.
