Township pools getting set to open for summer season

Starting Saturday, May 24, the pools will open on weekends only

Summer is coming fast, and that means it's time to dive into one of Abington Township’s community pools.

Starting Saturday, May 24, the pools will open on weekends only. Then, beginning Friday, June 21, the pools will be open daily all the way through Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 1. Whether you're looking to swim laps, cool off with the kids, or just relax by the water, there's something for everyone this season.

The two pool locations in Abington are:

  • Crestmont Pool, 2595 Rubicam Avenue
  • Penbryn Pool, 200 Houston Avenue

Here’s the pool schedule for summer 2025:

  • May 24–26, May 31–June 1, June 7–8, June 14–15: 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • June 21–Aug.17: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Aug. 18–Aug. 31: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
  • Labor Day (Sept. 1): 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

The Alverthorpe wading pool will open June 21, with hours from 11 AM to 5 PM daily—perfect for little ones and families looking for a calmer space to enjoy the water.

Important: Every member must have a valid photo ID membership card for entry. No ID means no entry, so be sure to plan ahead.

Here are the upcoming dates and locations where you can register and get your photo ID:

Alverthorpe Manor (515 Meetinghouse Road, Jenkintown):

  • Monday through Friday: 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, May 17 & Saturday, June 21: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Crestmont Clubhouse (2595 Rubicam Avenue, Willow Grove):
  • Tuesdays: May 20, June 17, and July 1 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
