The Abington Police Department is reporting that a juvenile was shot in the hand Wednesday night while sitting in a car in the parking lot of Roslyn Park in Abington Township. According to police, two suspects approached the car and one of the suspects fired a single shot through the window.
According to police, the suspects fled the scene at the intersection of Fernwood Avenue and Thompson Road and remain at large.
On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at approximately 11:06 p.m., Abington Police responded to a report of a female shot in the hand in the 2800 block of Susquehanna Road, according to police. Officers arriving at the scene located a vehicle with two females inside, one of which who was suffering from a gunshot wound to her right hand. She was accompanied by an adult female, according to police.
Emergency responders administered first aid to the juvenile victim, and she was then transported to Abington Jefferson Hospital for further medical treatment. Police determined that the suspects were no longer in the area.
According to the victim and witness, the two were having a conversation in the parking lot when a male wearing a black-and-white bandana covering his face approached the driver’s side of their vehicle and asked to speak with them. The victim complied and rolled the window down to speak with the male. At that moment, a second male wearing black surgical gloves and a black balaclava suddenly approached the vehicle and fired a single shot into it, hitting the juvenile female in the hand.
According to Abington Detective Lieutenant Kevin Magee, the victim and witness immediately fled the scene in their vehicle and called for an ambulance to their location in the 2800 block of Susquehanna Road.
The Abington Police Department released descriptions of the suspects:
Suspect 1: A light-skinned male with a husky build and medium-length afro-style hair. He was wearing a black windbreaker, black pants, and a black-and-white bandana that obscured his face.
Suspect 2: A dark-skinned male, wearing dark clothing, black surgical gloves, and a black balaclava that concealed his face.
Abington Police detectives are actively investigating this incident.
