Funeral set for Saturday for Arcadia professor, Glenside resident Kathy A. Trainor

Funeral arrangements for longtime Arcadia professor and Glenside native Kathy A. Trainor are set for Saturday, June 21, at the Queen of Peace Church, 820 North Hills Avenue in Ardsley.

Trainor was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and educator, passed away peacefully on June 15, surrounded by her family, according to the obituary. She was 65 years old.

"For over four decades, she inspired generations of students as a respected professor at Arcadia University," her obituary said. "Her wisdom, warmth, and unwavering support left a lasting impression on colleagues and students alike.

"Kathy will be remembered for her kind heart, sharp wit, and deep love for her family," according to the obituary. "She had a passion for learning, a gift for teaching, and a grace that touched everyone who knew her."

For over 20 years, she was an Adjunct Professor of Education at Arcadia University with an emphasis in inclusive early childhood education. She taught courses in the PreK-4 and Special Education undergraduate and graduate programs, and was also the PreK-4 Program Director and a Student Teacher Supervisor.  

Prior to teaching, she was a lead teacher and assistant director of the childcare program on the campus of Beaver College (now Arcadia University).
