Abington Township announces first ever Abington Fest in October

Abington officials recently announced that the first ever Abington Fest is set to run from October 4-5, bringing two full days of celebration, and fall-themed fun to the local community. 

This event offers something for everyone, from energetic races to family-friendly entertainment and spirited seasonal activities, and will take place at Roslyn Park, Crestmont Park, and Alverthorpe Park.

Highlights include a 5K race and Kids' Dash, encouraging participants of all ages to get moving. The festival will also feature interactive experiences like Touch a Truck and Trunk or Treat, where children can explore emergency vehicles, collect treats, and show off their costumes.

For golf enthusiasts, the Parent-Child Golf Tournament provides a unique opportunity for families to team up on the green and share quality time in a friendly competition.

October 4

The Fall Festival will be held on Saturday, Oct. 4, at Crestmont Park, 2595 Rubicam Avenue, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. This fun-filled, family-friendly event will feature a variety of free activities for children of all ages, including Touch a Truck, Trunk or Treat, bounce houses, and crafts. Costumes are encouraged! Please bring your own bags or containers to collect candy, as we will have a limited supply on hand.

Registration for Kid's Dash at Roslyn Park

Registration for the 5K Race (Cost: $30 for ages 18+ and $20 for ages 5 - 17).

Enjoy live music from a local band and grab a bite to eat from a selection of food trucks while you’re there. Admission is free.

Parking Information 

Parking is available at Crestmont Park in the lower and middle parking lots on Old Welsh Road, and at the Willow Grove Park Mall. The Abington Police Department will be on site to help with crossing the street.  

There will be no parking in the upper lot at Crestmont Park (location of the Trunk or Treat/Touch a Truck).

October 5

The Parent-Child Golf Tournament will be held at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5, at Alverthorpe Park for children ages 7–12 and their parent or guardian. The cost is $15 per team. Registration will open on Aug. 4 at www.abingtonpa.gov/PRregistration. Please note, this event is open to Abington Township residents only. 

Trophies will be awarded to the top teams in each age group: Ages 7-8, Ages 9-10, Ages 11-12


Rules:

  • Each team must be comprised of one child and one adult (18 years or older)
  • Tournament will be a shotgun start format
  • Players must have their clubs
  • All players must walk the course (golf carts are not available)
  • Rolling carts are permitted
  • Each team will keep track of their score and submit their scorecard after 9 holes
  • The 3 lowest combined scores in each age group will win.
  • For the safety of others, spectators are not permitted on the golf course.
