At the Cheltenham Township Board of Commissioners meeting held on Tuesday, July 16, 2025, three new officers were officially sworn in to the Cheltenham Township Police Department

The ceremony took place at Curtis Hall and was conducted by the Honorable Judge Steven C. Tolliver, Sr.

The new officers are William Torzon, Kiera Swanson, and Robert Day. Officers Torzon and Swanson recently graduated from the Montgomery County Police Academy, where they completed months of intensive training in areas such as law enforcement procedures, community policing, and emergency response. They are beginning their careers in law enforcement here in Cheltenham, and we look forward to seeing them grow and serve our community.

Officer Robert Day comes to Cheltenham with prior experience as a police officer in Georgia and Philadelphia. His background brings additional knowledge and perspective to our department, and his experience will be a valuable resource to the team.

"Please join us in welcoming these individuals to our Cheltenham Township Police Department," Cheltenham police wrote.
