On April 8, 2025, officers from the Abington Township Police Department responded to a report of a residential burglary in the 1600 block of Pennypack Road. The victim reported that a male approached her at her home, offering to perform tree work on her property at a low cost. The individual accompanied her to the backyard and engaged her in conversation for approximately 20 minutes. During this time, he appeared to be speaking to someone on the phone before abruptly leaving the property.

Upon returning inside, the resident discovered that cash and jewelry had been stolen from an upstairs bedroom. Detectives later determined that the suspect had intentionally lured the homeowner outside and distracted her while a second accomplice entered the home and stole the valuables.

Following an investigation, Abington Police Detectives identified one of the suspects as Ephraim Frank, of Runnemede, N.J. With the assistance of the Philadelphia Police Department, and the District Attorney’s Offices of Montgomery County and Philadelphia, Frank was also charged in connection with a second distraction-style burglary that occurred on March 28, 2025, in the 11000 block of Knights Road in Philadelphia.

Frank was taken into custody in New Jersey and extradited to Montgomery County, where he was arraigned on two counts of burglary and related offenses. On July 17, 2025, bail was set at $50,000, and Frank was remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.

The investigation remains ongoing as detectives work to identify the second suspect involved in the April 8th burglary. Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Robert Hill at (267) 536-1101 or via email at [email protected].
