Woman with five prior retail theft convictions allegedly caught stealing electronics from Target, according to police

Monique Wright, 36, of the 5700 block of Larchwood Avenue in Philadelphia, is facing a felony charge stemming from an incident in Abington Township, according to police. 

Police from the Abington Police Department were notified after the suspect, later identified as Wright, was observed in Target, located at 1495 Old York Road, passing all points of sale without paying for merchandise, according to police. 

According to police documents, Wright selected items marked for sale from the electronic section of the store and concealed them in a backpack and in her pants pocket. Wright then exited the store without making an attempt to pay for the items, according to police. 

Wright was stopped and was found to be in possession of the electronics, which had a value of $307.29.

Wright has five prior retail theft convictions, according to police.

Wright is facing felony charges of retail theft and receiving stolen property.
