Authorities are investigating a three-vehicle crash that occurred Friday afternoon in front of State Farm Insurance at 21 North York Road, involving a pickup truck, an Amazon delivery vehicle, and an ambulance that allegedly left the scene, according to Montgomery County emergency dispatch reports.
The crash was reported at 1:50 p.m., near the intersection of Quigley Avenue and Inman Terrace in the Willow Grove section of the township. A gold Chevrolet 2500 pickup sustained front-end damage and the electric Amazon truck had a crushed driver side door, requiring rescue of the driver.
Eyewitnesses reported to North Penn Now at the scene that the ambulance went through the intersection and likely was a catalyst to the accident. According to witness reports, the ambulance fled the scene, heading southbound on York Road immediately after the collision.
Upper Moreland Police have advised that any sightings or details regarding the ambulance should be reported to Abington Township Police as the investigation continues.
Emergency medical crews from the Second Alarmers Rescue Squad responded to the scene.
It is unclear whether any patients were inside the fleeing ambulance at the time of the crash. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the ambulance was privately operated, municipal, or affiliated with a medical facility.
York Road is reduced to one lane in both directions.
There were no injuries.
The incident remains under active investigation.
