Kris Michael Sanchez, 35, of the 300 block of S. Broad Street in Philadelphia, is facing a felony charge of aggravated assault stemming from an incident at a local tavern, according to police.

On June 29, at 1:49 a.m., police officers from the Lower Moreland Police Department were dispatched to Time Out, located at 2840 Pine Road in Huntingdon Valley, for a report of a physical disturbance.

The disturbance involved multiple males who were leaving the restaurant as it was closing close to 2 a.m. A video surveillance camera located outside of the business captured the entire incident.

According to police documents, three individuals were intoxicated and agitated while in the parking lot. The individuals can be seen in multiple verbal and non-verbal exchanges with several other patrons in the parking lot, according to police.

Security personnel caught wind of the altercations going on in the parking lot, and the security guard approached the crowd in the parking lot, according to police.

Video surveillance showed the three subjects in an “excited state,” however, there were no physical strikes or assaults at this time. A second security guard, later identified as Sanchez, began to run towards the crows and video shows him take off his hat, hand it to another security guard who was slowly walking, and began to throw punches toward both subjects in the parking lot. The video shows Sanchez strike two patrons several times with his right and left fists, according to police.

One of the subjects fell to the ground, suffering a scrape to his right cheek, right elbow, and right knee. The subject also reported a shoulder injury as a result of the fall.

A second subject was captured on video, being pushed by the security guard, but was in a passive, defensive position, and did not throw any punches, according to police. While standing next to Sanchez, Sanchez delivered an unprovoked punch to the face, causing him to fall backwards onto the road. Police observed this subject to be unconscious with a high degree of blood coming from his nose and fascial area.

While being transported to Abington Jefferson Hospital, it was reported that the subject was a trauma patient, and was receiving a CT scan of his brain. The extent of his condition is not known at this time, according to police.

Sanchez is charged with a felony of aggravated assault, and other charges.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
