Borough of Rockledge names new mayor, honors longtime police officer

It was a busy night at the Borough of Rockledge council meeting. The borough named a new mayor and congratulated a longtime police officer on his retirement.

The announcements were made at the Borough of Rockledge's council meeting on Jan. 27.

Brian Corrigan was sworn in as the new mayor. Officer Frank Jaworski was honored for his 20 years of service at the police department.

“It is with great pleasure that we announce Officer Frank Jaworski was honored at Monday night’s Borough Council meeting with a plaque celebrating his 20 years of dedicated service with the Rockledge Borough Police Department,” the township wrote. “Unfortunately, it was also announced that Officer Jaworski will be retiring from the department.

“Officer Jaworski has been an invaluable asset to our department, and his contributions will be sorely missed,” the township added. “We extend our heartfelt gratitude for his years of service and wish him a happy retirement and much success in his future endeavors.”

In other related township news, Katie Hopkins-Toffling was appointed to fill a vacant Borough Council seat.
