Jenkintown School District continues its 150th anniversary celebration

There are planned events throughout the rest of the school year.

Throughout the school year, the Jenkintown School District has celebrated its 150th Anniversary with a number of school events. 

In the first few months of the 2024 school year and the first month of 2025, the school, students and faculty have had a number of celebrations, including a Homecoming & Alumni Hall of Fame Induction, a door decorating contest, a career fair, fun school quiz contests, a winter band concert and vocal music concert.

The celebration will continue throughout the year with many more fun-fill events planned.

2/19: Alumni Red & Blue quiz: 

March

3/13-3/15: Jenkintown Theater Arts Spring Show: alumni will be recognized for participation in the past performances.

150th Art Contest: will run all month long

April

150th Anniversary Community Art Exhibit: will run all month long

4/24: Alumni talent show

May

5/2: 150th Day of School: 150 Acts of Kindness Challenge

5/28: Athletic dinner honoring current, alumni athletes

June

6/5: 150th Anniversary picnic

6/18: 150th graduation ceremony.


Along with the planned events, Jenkintown School District released Jenkintown—150 Years Strong, a documentary celebrating the District’s history and legacy. 

“This special film offers an in-depth journey through the past century and a half, highlighting the community’s unwavering commitment to excellence in education, the triumphs of our students and educators, and the close-knit relationships that define Jenkintown,” the school district stated on its website.

“Through rare historical footage, interviews with alumni, faculty, and students, and a tribute to landmark events and milestones, 150 Years Strong captures the spirit, resilience, and dedication of Jenkintown,” JSD added. “This documentary is a testament to the enduring impact of our schools and the community’s role in shaping them over the decades.”
