Abington Police give update on reported 'shooting' in Abington Township

"There were no guns involved, and no serious injuries."

The Abington Police Department gave an update to a previous county dispatch call of a shooting in Abington Township.  

According to county dispatch, a call was received to 911 around 4:25 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16 for the call of a shooting in the area of Bradfield Road between Susquehanna Road and Woodland Road within the township. Dispatchers said that they could hear “arguing” and multiple parties involved.

Abington Chief of Police Patrick Molloy said the original report of a shooting was “unfounded,” and the incident was described as a large fight between adults and teenagers, resulting in arrests.

“There were no guns involved, and no serious injuries,” said Molloy.

Abington Township Police Department units were called to the scene from the Second Alarmers Rescue Squad among other first responders.
