The Briar Bush Nature Center in Abington will be getting four new ambassadors, according to an announcement.
The new animals will be chosen based off their temperament, the level of care they require, and how much space the museum has to devote to these creatures. Briar Bush Nature Center, 1212 Edge Hill Road, is seeing an increase in demand for these programs than ever before, so it is expanding its animal collection to meet those needs.
Two former ambassadors have left, which opens up two new spots, but Brian Bush said it plans to add four new ambassadors.
“Leo, the crested gecko, has shown he is not comfortable being handled, and been retired from programs, moving to a quiet home life with some of our dedicated animal volunteers,” Briar Bush announced. “Link, our red-eared slider Creed II movie star, has moved to a reptile rescue and education non-profit in New Jersey.”
Briar Bush plans to announce the four new ambassadors over the next month or so.
“There's a lot that goes on behind the scenes to manage an education animal collection at a nature center like Briar Bush,” Briar Bush said in a Facebook post.
Briar Bush Nature Center is a local museum that features live animals, a bird observatory cabin, a natural playscape, a pond, trails, a summer camp, and educational programs for children and adults.
