Police forensically interviewed a 9-year-old child who relayed information about a Nov. 30, 2024, event that occurred in Abington Township, in which they were left alone with an adult man and sexually abused.
Abington Township Police said that Marlon Lozano-Benavidez, 50, of the 1100 block of Bradfield Road, was left alone with a child in his home in the Roslyn section of the township. During this time, according to a police criminal complaint, he inappropriately touched himself over his pants in front of the child. Additionally, the complaint said, Lozano-Benavidez conducted aggravated assault and indecent assault with a number of different sexual actions, in addition to rape on the child, as the child was in his care.
As the victim contacted their mother, Lozano-Benavidez looked at the victim’s phone and told them, “not to tell anyone what happened,” police said.
Lozano-Benavidez is charged with felony counts of rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, corruption of minors, unlawful contact with a minor, aggravated indecent assault of a child, and aggravated indecent assault of a child less than 13-years-old. Additionally, he faces misdemeanor charges of indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age and endangering the welfare of a child.
Lozano-Benavidez is being held in county jail, unable to pay a $500,000 nonmonetary bail. He is scheduled for a formal arraignment on Feb. 12 before Magisterial District Judge John D. Kessler at 9:30 a.m.
