First responders are enroute to a fire midday on Thursday.
According to county dispatch, calls were received around 11:58 a.m. for the 7900 block of Anselm Road, in the Elkins Park section of Cheltenham Township on Thursday, Jan. 9. A garage, which is attached to a house, is currently on fire. Early reports state all items inside the garage, including a car, are on fire.
Called to the scene are units from La Mott Fire Company, Narberth Fire Company, Jenkintown Fire Department, Elkins Park Fire Company, Glenside Fire Company, Wyndmoor Hose Company, and Cheltenham Township Emergency Medical Service (EMS) among other first responders.
Those at the scene report heavy smoke from the garage, and some have said the fire began as a car fire, though it has not yet been confirmed by authorities. The vehicle is an older model Lexus sedan, dispatch said. A nearby tree is now catching on fire, as well.
All people have been evacuated from the attached home.
